Senator Tim Mathern's property tax plan involves expanding the Homestead Tax Credit to all primary residence, regardless of income, for the first $200,000 valuation on a home.
The property tax plan attempts to address the main issue: property valuation, although indirectly and with a credit. The fix for properties in trust, etc. is warranted.
The state confiscates all excess income and places it in various stacks, funds, trust funds. Education trust funds.. it is our money and the 1.2 billion it would cost belongs to the citizens. They would still have excess funds to steal from the tsxpayor and put in these false vessels. Downstream ptax elimination would fund the star coffers More efficiently with industry and new jobs moving to the state and paying 5% sales tax. Hell, just cutting the absolutely sinful state budget by 10% (2billion)would more than pay for ptax elimination. Tax payors get screwed at every level. City, county,state and federal usually at the expense of the horse pulling those in the cart , namely the spoiled over paid, over staffed ,underworked and over benefitted “public sector” who never suffer . They have become a voting block being fed by corrupt politicians and electing them over and over.
