Instead of an "either/or" debate, the House Finance and Tax Committee should look at how a hybrid model could allow taxpayers savings to be front-loaded without breaking the bank.
No matter how you slice it, school spending is out of control, along with other government entity spending. We’d be better off making it easier for voters to understand and rein in what school boards are doing with their money.
Schools, park districts, etc work up a budget and the taxpayer is on the hook with no say and no recourse. Maybe we should be able to vote on these budgets.
Also schools need more competition. Make coop home schooling easier.
Why is a teaching certificate required to teach while in at least one state teachers don’t have to know how to read.
Government from top to bottom is more and more a scam. If they can’t take your money out of one pocket they’ll take it out of another.
