With respect, this comment is regarding Jan’s perspective. A newly elected individual has almost no power when it comes to a vote within a board that has been established previously. For instance, you run for a position with the intention to make a difference and positively impact your constituents. If you’re one of 5 voting, you’ll not succeed. The sad truth is that people vote by name recognition and it’s extremely difficult to replace them organically, if not almost impossible. How frustrated you’d feel knowing your heart and desire to make change and can’t. Something needs to activate citizens to realize what’s been going on inspire them to engage in researching, campaigning and voting for those that truly care and want accountability and change.
