A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about the need to fix the inequity caused by taxing mobile home parks as commercial instead of residential.

On Monday, January 30th the House Finance and Tax Committee discussed this issue, and postponed a vote on the bill for what turned out to be for two-days for the League of Cities to find a compromise on the issue.

At that January 30th hearing, I offered an amendment to address some of the concerns that the City of Bismarck had made at its January 24th meeting where I asked them to not oppose HB 1328.

The changes that I offered were as follows to replace the language in the original bill with new less-vague language:

Yesterday, February 1st the committee took up HB 1328, declined to consider the amendment I offered as a compromise and gave the bill a 13-1 Do Not Pass - even though the League of Cities were not willing to offer a suggested compromise themselves.
