The committee heard from enough citizens that it took up the amendment that I was proposing last week.

Yesterday, they took up this amendment and voted 13-0 to accept it. There was overall agreement the amendment was better than the original bill.

However, after accepting the amendment, they gave the bill itself an 8-6 Do Not Pass recommendation.

So now I need your help again.

This bill is headed to the floor as soon as today, but certainly in the next few days.

I believe this bill is a litmus test on the legislature’s ability to tackle genuine large-scale reform
