June 2024 Election Analysis
The June 2024 primary election was not a good showing for candidates relying on "culture war" issues. A return to focusing on core economic and fiscal issues is needed in The Conservative Movement.
It’s time to take a very brief look at what happened during Tuesday’s primary election.
Turnout was very low, despite the fact that the spending on ads (especially negative) was one of the highest ever in North Dakota.
Burleigh County Property Tax To Sales Tax Shift
As reported on election night, the Burleigh County ballot measure to shift county law enforcement costs away from property taxes to local sales tax passed.
The passage of this local tax measure proves voters want something, anything, to be done about property taxes. The legislature needs to look at meaningful, long-term, permanent property tax reforms next session.
