HCR 3003: Powers Reserved To The People Under Attack!
The House Government and Veterans Affairs committee has sent the 60% rule for constitutional measure to the House floor with a 9-5 Do Pass recomendation.
This afternoon the committee tasked to decide whether to make the constitutional measure process harder gave HCR 3003 a 9-5 Do Pass recommendation, with a minor technical amendment.
This proposed change is part of the latest wave sweeping the nation attempting to make it harder for citizens to set the terms and conditions for their government.
Yesterday in South Dakota, a similar proposal passed their House as well.
In both states, out-of-state influences are cited, but neither legislature appears willing to actually address the campaign finance issue.
In my testimony last week, I suggested the legislature actually address the problem directly rather than just making the process more difficult for North Dakota citizens that lack big budgets.
If you oppose making initiated constitutional measures harder, now is the time to contact your legislators by clicking here.
Tell them to respect ALL of the constitution, including the parts they donโt like: such as the Powers Reserved To The People.
