Former Governor Calls HB 1130 "A Mistake" and "Stupid"
Last week, Rob Port had Former Governor Ed Schafer on his radio show on WDAY-Radio.
Rob reports that Ed Schafer said:
“This tax on long term care residents is stupid,” he told me, adding that proponents of the tax have been “trying to get it on the table since I was governor.”
Schafer said my criticism of new Governor Doug Burgum – of whom Schafer has been an outspoken proponent – for supporting this tax despite his anti-tax pledges during the campaign was fair.
“I just think it’s a mistake,” Schafer said.
This is just another voice against a very bad bill.
Other media is reporting that there will be a 2-year sunset on the bill- which makes even less sense.
