Fargo Forum Attacks Elected Officials Who Stand Up For Policy Reform

Last week, we forwarded to you a letter from Fargo City Commissioner Tony Gehrig and Bismarck City Commissioner Steve Marquardt. (See letter below.)
Because this letter, the Fargo Forum has today come out attacking Gehrig for using city letterhead to advocate for the taxpayers of Fargo and of every city in North Dakota.
This is a petty attack based on the fact that Gehrig stands against the corporate welfare handouts that force every other taxpayer in Fargo to pay more on their property taxes.
I have been told that commissioners use city letterhead all the time. But that is simply a point of fake outrage to go after the one voice of dissent on the Fargo city commission.
From the perspective of a taxpayer advocate, there is no problem with using city letterhead to expose the public to crony capitalism that goes on in government like City Commissioner Ton Gehrig does.
