Crypto-Currency Issue Takes National Spotlight
Last week I wrote about and urged Governor Doug Burgum to veto HB 1082 because of the monopoly status it gives CBDCs (Central Bank Digital Currencies).
On Monday, Governor Burgum actually signed that bill.
I was not expecting this result given Burgum’s political investment in the crypto-industry via Kevin O’Leary, BitZero, and the other crypto-industry plans he has announced in the last couple years.
Yesterday, this issue got some national exposure as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis suggested not only preventing CBDCs from getting monopoly status, he wants the Florida legislature to go the other direction and ban CBDCs.
