Just days after signing multiple pieces of legislation to bailout the coal industry, including the creation of a new government agency, with a permanent appropriation from the Legacy Fund Earnings as well as a $250 million line of credit at the Bank of North Dakota - - -

Governor Doug Burgum now says he wants North Dakota to be Carbon Neutral by the Year 2030 - a goal that will cost a lot more than the money that has been spent this session.

A goal that will even further increase the cost of propping up the coal industry long term.
