Bismarck Should Look To Sioux Falls For Public Transit Ideas
Bismarck voters approved a sales tax dedicated to public safety and public transportation in November. Sioux Falls may be providing an example of what to do differently for public transit.
Last month, the voters of Bismarck approved a sales tax with 2/10ths a cent dedicated to public transportation and 3/10ths dedicated to public safety.
The measure was placed on the ballot by citizens gathering signatures NOT by the request of the city commission, which is fairly unique in the world of tax increases at the local level.
