Why has the valuation of the Mandan Walmart been going down since 2019 while other property values have been going up drastically? No one knows!
One of the big arguments by the opposition to Measure 4 is the benefit it created for out-of-state companies and property owners.
But what what fails to take into account is that out-of-state property owners already benefit from state and local polcies.
Over the last 15 years as the state has spent $7.5 billion in the name of “relieving property taxes” even though the public does not realize that it was even spent.
Mandan’s Walmart Illustrates The Disproportionate Benefits Out-Of-State Corporations Currently Receive
It was brought to my attention that one paticular case study might be of interest to voters. That is the case of the Mandan Walmart.
Since 2019, the Full and True value of the Mandan Walmart has gone down - from a peak of $16,125,900 in in 2019 to the current $15,032,000 in 2023 - a 6.7% reduction.
Let’s compare that to the locally-owned Prairie Rose Dental office - literally across the street.
